As difficult as it is for us human to find healthy food in this society, finding healthy cat food is twice as hard! I have heard stories about how they use dead sick animals or using scraps of whatever animals we human discard for pet food manufacturing, obviously we try to steer away from those. And then, there are the healthier choices that are suppose to be better but they are just so pricy.
One of my friend suggested me to make the cat food myself, and what a brilliant idea that is! If we go to the supermarket and get some chicken meat and liver, we can make the cat food easily. Granted it takes some time and patience, but I think it is totally worth it so I am going to write down my process this way anyone can make them on their own.
First you need a decent size pot, put about half a pot of water in it.
Got the chicken thigh and liver from the super market, later i found out the ratio that works better is 1.5 pound of chicken to 1 container of liver, learn something new everyday.
Wash the chicken and livers in water.
I cook the chicken first, and as I get rid of the bones(it's hot as hell, so it helps to wait a little), I would boil the livers.
When the livers are fully cooked, take them out, and keep the liquid! We will need it later.
Mix the liver in the boneless chicken.
Throw just the right amount to the food processor, the food processor is the key. Finely chopping those chicken would make you want to die for sure.
This is when I realized I have too much livers, everything got stuck to the container.
If that happens, add some of those chicken soup from the pot.
Once they are blended, add more chicken soup in the mixture.
Stir them a little bit.
Once they are mixed, I would store them in the freeze, just defrost them and serve(before your cat is hungry, the defrosting can take a few hours.
